Hearing Aid Styles

Es importante notar cualquier cambio en su audición y puede ser un indicador de problemas de audición. Los signos comunes incluyen:

Invisible in Canal

IIC hearing aids are the most discreet style of hearing aid available, with the entire device placed into the ear canal with a small clear handle. The size of hearing IIC hearing aids limits some of the power they can provide, making them best for mild to moderate hearing loss.

Completely in Canal

CIC hearing aids are almost completely hidden when worn, sitting slightly closer to the outer ear than IIC devices. Choosing CIC hearing aids gives you a comfortable, discreet fit. Like IIC hearing aids, CIC hearing aids are best suited for mild to moderate hearing loss.

In the Canal

ITC hearing aids are contained in a small earmold that rests just inside the ear canal. These hearing aids are placed where they are visible, yet their small size keeps them unobtrusive. Because of their placement in the ear, ITC hearing aids can deliver more powerful sound making them appropriate for mild to mildly severe hearing loss.

In the Ear

ITE hearing aids today have redesigned the classic hearing aid profile to make it more powerful and comfortable. A fitted earmold rests in the outer ear and entrance to the ear canal. ITE style hearing aids have streamlined the design of past ITE models, so while they are visible in the ear, they are far more discreet. ITE hearing aids can be worn for mild to severe hearing loss.

Receiver in Canal

RIC hearing aids are the most popular style on the market today. A tiny microphone unit rests comfortably behind the ear and sound is delivered via a small wire to a receiver unit tucked into the ear canal. RIC hearing aids are largely hidden from view and can help everything from mild to severe hearing loss.

Behind the Ear

BTE hearing aids have a similar profile to RIC devices, although the BTE receiver is a component of the behind the ear unit and sound is delivered to the ear via a small clear tube. BTE hearing aids are capable of assisting all degrees of hearing loss, with special models built to specialize in helping severe to profound hearing trouble.
