Meet the Staff
Michael’s father, Lee F. Schneller, started his first hearing clinic in Garden City, Kansas in 1971. At the tender age of six, Michael diagnosed his babysitter with a hearing loss and was instrumental in getting her fitted with hearing aids from his father. As a young child, Michael worked in his father’s clinic after school and on weekends, working on, repairing and cleaning hearing aids. As Michael grew older, he traveled with his father to hospitals and retirement communities in southwest Kansas, assisting him in anyway he could. From these experiences, he acquired the passion for helping others. This prompted him to focus his education on assisting people with hearing impairments. The foundation of hearing aid knowledge Michael acquired while working in the state of Kansas helped pave the way so Michael could expand his studies in California, Minnesota and Florida. He finished his dissertation paper on the astigmatisms of hearing aids in 2001.
Michael is currently licensed in Kansas and Missouri and has been in private practice since 2002. He has done contract work for Beltone, Miracle-Ear and Accurate Hearing Solutions in Colorado. Michael dedicates himself to being up-to-date on all the latest hearing systems and cutting edge technologies. This, combined with his broad experience and knowledge of different manufacturers, allows him to make the best recommendations for his patients.

Cynthia first came to Focus Hearing when her mom needed hearing aids. She experienced first-hand the big difference hearing aids made in her mom’s life. “We used to avoid crowds and restaurants because the sounds were just overwhelming noise for my mom.
The hearing aids changed everything as soon as we left Mike’s office. I had so much fun during her appointments that I ended up interning to learn more about auditory physiology and pathology”.
With a background in science and healthcare, she joined us to help people better hear and understand their loved ones.
Cynthia’s communication skills are her favorite strength because they help her build a long-lasting connection with patients. She fluently speaks English and Spanish to serve a diverse population across Kansas City, where she grew up.
Cynthia attended UMKC and graduated with a Chemistry B.A.
